Celebrate Black History Month -
Visit the recently opened 'Jim Crow' exhibit which is housed in a
restored segregation era railroad car. A video presentation relates
to visitors what it was like to be an African-American on the railroad
from the mouths of former Porters, Waiters, and Chefs themselves.

Junior Train Crew Member Training Class - Saturday February 23, 2008
The Gold Coast Railroad Museum has implemented a new
Junior Trainman Class. This program offers children a unique opportunity to learn
about railroading first-hand through classroom instruction and an introduction to
Museum operations.

March 3-6 the Museum will be closed to prepare for our Day Out With Thomas Event and from March 10-13 between event weekends.
Thomas the Tank Engine visits the Gold Coast Railroad Museum - March 7-9 and 14-16
Thomas the Tank engine pulls into the station at the Gold Coast Railroad Museum. Ride with Thomas, meet Sir Topham Hatt, visit the Imagination Station, and enjoy live music and entertainment.
Tickets are on sale now.
March 17-21 the Museum will be closed following our Day Out With Thomas Event

The Museum will reopen following Thomas the Tank Engine's visit from Sodor. Guests will enjoy free admission.

You can't have a free locomotive, but you can get free admission for your family if you tell us your favorite short joke at the admissions counter.
Experience the E Units - Saturday April 5, 2008
The Museum's E-8 and E-9 locomotives will be operating offering the rare chance to climb into the cab and even take a ride. The engineers will also be
available to talk about and answer questions about the locomotives.
Please note: To enter the cab of an E unit requires climbing a ladder and to ride requires the purchase of a cab ride ticket - Space is limited.

Spooky Halloween Adventures - Saturday and Sunday October 25-26, 2008
Visit the Gold Coast Railroad Museum for the Spooky Halloween Adventures. The Gates are open from 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm. Take a link train ride through a decorated Halloween
forest (included in admission), color creepy pictures, dig for bones in the 'cemetery', listen to scary stories, and much more. Check back for more information as Halloween
approaches. PLEASE NOTE: This event is geared towards younger children (10 and under). Though some older children may still be entertained, the activities, decorations, and
'level of scariness' is directed towards the younger kids.

Holiday Celebration - Saturday and Sunday December 12-13, 2008
Visit the Museum for an evening of holiday music, food, a train ride aboard our 2-foot gauge train through the holiday forest, the chance to see Santa Claus arrive by train (and later speak with him - if you've been good), as-well-as many other activities.

The Museum will be closed on December 25, 2008 - Christmas Day and January 1, 2009 - New Years Day
