You can Help! |
|
The Gold Coast Railroad Museum depends on generous
individuals and businesses for much of it's support. Several businesses have
become sponsors, by providing financial support, services, or a combination, in
order to help the Museum. Please use their services, as they generously put
money back into the local community. |

Wish List |
|
The Gold Coast Railroad Museum has a growing "wish list."
Donating items to our wish list fund not only assists our tight budget by
reducing purchases, they can also provide donors with a productive and adaptive
reuse of their unwanted materials. Our list varies all the way from curatorial
needs for manikins and display cases to old paintbrushes and cleaning supplies
to help us keep the museum looking bright. Donations of extra office supplies
are very much appreciated as well.
If you have an item to donate, you may request a tax
donation letter to assist you in your record keeping. You will also have an
even bigger bonus because the items you contribute make a very visible and
immediate impact on the Museum which you will see for yourself. If you would
like to help us move forward either by just donating your old stuff, or perhaps
in other ways, feel free to call our executive director, Mike Hall, at
305-962-9341.
- 200 metal folding chairs would greatly expand our ability to host
functions.
- 12 new lightweight picnic benches would facilitate our growing field trip
numbers.
- 24 mall style benches around the museum to assist elderly patrons.
- 1 four seat utility vehicle would assist setup of field trips and birthday
events.
- 21" or larger color television for displaying educational
videos in our cars.
- Digital camera, for use in cataloging collection, web
site work, etc.
- Manikins for displaying uniforms, etc.
- Storage shelves and filing cabinets for our
Curatorial/Library area.
- "Old" luggage for displays in our baggage cars and
floats.
- Flooring for the Cafe Car.
- Dade County approved Storage buildings (for items now
stored in our theatre area).
- Wood-working tools and equipment for our "Wood
shop".
- Manpower and materials to re-wire our phone system (it's
the original 16+ years old).
- (2) shrink wrap systems, one for the Museum Store, and
one for the Curatorial Dept.
We thank Jeff Brown for the donation of a washer and dryer,
which was at the top of last month's wish list. This will be a tremendous help
in keeping all the many beds and washrooms in our Pullman cars looking
smart.
